The mission of Partnership for Compassionate Use Therapies (PCUT) is to restart the manufacture of promising developmental therapies that, for economic reasons, have been de-prioritized or discontinued by their shareholder-owned sponsors. 

We focus on treatments for rare life-threatening disorders for which no other effective therapy exists. 

PCUT forms a unique "virtual production company" for each product it sponsors by forming not-for-profit partnerships with intellectual-property owners, contract manufacturers, consultants, investigators, and trial clinics.

Our pilot program is the production of a biologic therapy for ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease).  The product already achieved FDA approval for other indications that were non life threatening, and five clinical trials of over 150 human patients demonstrated zero serious side effects.  We are excited about this product because of the scientific foundation behind its application in neurodegenerative diseases and because it is has already shown dramatically positive results in the ALS sufferers who have been able to access it for investigational use.  Unfortunately the product's manufacturer discontinued production in 2009.
